How do pigments work with PVC?

Colorants for PVC plastics are mainly dyes, organic pigments and inorganic pigments. Dyes are light in weight but easy to migrate, so dyes are generally used in combination with pigments. PVC plastics have higher requirements on pigments, such as high temperature resistance during processing, unaffected by HCL, no migration during processing, and light resistance. Generally, the following requirements should be met:

(1) Large molecular weight, stable chemical structure, higher melting point, thermal decomposition temperature higher than 300 ° C;
(2) It is chemically inert to PVC plastic and has good compatibility and good dispersibility;
(3) Good heat resistance and sublimation resistance;
(4) It is non-toxic or low in toxicity, and it is added in a small amount in plastics.

The colorants commonly used in PVC formulations are:

(1) Red is mainly soluble azo pigment, cadmium red inorganic pigment, iron oxide red pigment, phthalocyanine red, etc.;
(2) Yellow mainly includes azo yellow, chrome yellow, cadmium yellow and fluorescent yellow;
(3) Blue has mainly phthalocyanine blue
(4) The green color is mainly indocyanine green;
(5) White mainly uses titanium dioxide;
(6) Purple is mainly plastic purple RL;
(7) Black is mainly carbon black.

In addition, the fluorescent whitening agent is used for whitening, the gold powder and the silver powder are used for color printing, and the pearl powder makes the plastic have pearl-like astigmatism.
